Year 9 students in Stage 5 History will study the modern world from the 1750s to post 1945. The aim is to stimulate students’ interest in and enjoyment of exploring the past and participating in society as active, informed and responsible citizens. Students will enhance their literacy development as well as develop outcomes in their understanding of time, change and continuity. They will also develop their skills in interpretation and research.

Assessment is varied allowing students to demonstrate their knowledge in multiple ways. Types of assessment tasks include written examinations, fieldwork/excursion reports and research projects.
Successful students actively participate in practical lessons, satisfactorily complete class work, notes and homework; complete required assessment tasks and a written tests.
