NPA 4 & 5 Photography

These National Progression Awards (NPA) provide practical hands-on learning to develop knowledge and understanding in photography. If you want to explore your interest in photography and develop your skills in this area, then these are the courses for you! There is no need for specialised equipment - in most cases you will use your phone camera. However, we can also provide a digital camera if required.

These courses will give you the opportunity to work individually, with others and will help develop your self-confidence and self-development.

Both NPA 4 & 5 covers areas such as:

understanding different photography genres and concepts
practical skills in photographing people and places
organising and working with photographic images

In both NPA 4 & 5, you will undertake 4 units of work:

Understanding Photography
Photographing People
Photographing Places
Working with Photographs

Skills you will gain

In these courses you will develop aspects of Core Skills, especially in Communication, Problem Solving, ICT and Working with Others.

However, there are so many other skills you will gain including: research skills, critical thinking skills, organisational skills, evaluations skills and presentation skills
