Why study Music Technology?

Studying music technology allows you to work on creative technology projects such as multitrack recordings of music, radio shows, podcasts, audiobooks and sound design for film, TV and animation. You will develop a broad understanding of the music industry and the skills it requires, such as planning and organising, creative thinking, research, critical thinking and decision making, as well as working both collaboratively and independently.

Studying music technology does not require the ability to play a musical instrument and is suitable for anybody with a broad interest in music and the music industry. This course provides various pathways to higher levels of study including direct links to college and university. 

The skills that you develop in Music Technology are useful in careers such as Sound Designer, Sound Engineer, Producer, DJ, Journalist, Musician, Sound technician and a variety of jobs within radio and podcasting.
