S3 ART & DESIGN
In this first block of work, you will specifically be looking at mark-making techniques and paint handling skills using a variety of painting tools to create creative and expressive landscapes.
This work will continue to develop skills in mark-making using different media including, pencil, coloured pencil, pen and watercolour.
Pupils will also focus on developing their use of the visual elements including tone, colour and texture to create a sense of depth and realism in their portraiture work.
In S3 pupils will continue to develop their skills within Design. Following the design process, they will investigate a theme from which they will then produce ideas and experiment with different media and techniques. Then, pupils will select their best idea and produce a final solution before evaluating the strengths of the design, as well as noting areas for improvement taking account of the requirements of the brief.
This unit will continue to develop creativity and problem-solving in design and give pupils the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of design practice, function and aesthetics.
Design projects will also develop skills in either 2D or 3D areas.
