Testing and Test Prep
Starting TOMORROW, we will be participating in school-wide test prep for ACT and LEAP. All students Test Prep assignments are posted below. Test prep sessions will take place during the "activity" session on a morning activity schedule. (8:30 - 9:30)
ACT & PreACT Testing
All Juniors and Seniors will participate in mandatory Mock Testing on Friday during the morning activity period. It is imperative that all juniors and seniors are present at school.
All students on campus will take the ACT (11/12), ACT WorkKeys (12), or the PreACT (9/10) March 12 or 13. Due to the size of the testing groups and the number of staff required to administer the tests, students will test at least one day and will have asynchronous virtual assignments posted for home on any non-testing day. Test assignments will be emailed to students on Wednesday.
ACT is used for College Admissions, TOPS Eligibility, and Final Exam Exemptions
ACT WorkKeys is used by some seniors for Final Exam Exemptions
PreACT is used for determining if the student must take ACT Prep in the 11th grade and for Final Exam Exemption Eligibility.
You will be able to verify your student's testing and virtual assignment by having them pull up the email from their EBR Student Email Account. This is the only way testing information will be sent to students and families.
School Attendance
School attendance is important to student's success and a teacher's ability to provide support to students. With a teaching load of 150-180 students, a teacher's ability to provide individual support for students who are late or absent is limited. This year, the LMHS attendance rate has dropped significantly, with juniors and seniors missing more school than any other grade level. Right now 1 in 10 Juniors and 1 in 10 seniors is absent from school every day. This does not take into account the 60-70 students who are arriving late to school daily, which requires teachers to stop instruction for the class to catch them up.
9th Grade - 93.24% 10th Grade 93.16% 11th grade 91.51% 12th Grade 89.66%
Senior Parents
Completion of the FASFA is a graduation requirement in the state of Louisiana. Liberty has scheduled a support session for families to complete the FASFA which will be held during both lunch shifts. This event is for both students and parents and will include LOSFA representatives.
We are also currently working on scheduling a support session for families during the afternoon of March 20 after early dismissal. This date is still awaiting final confirmation.
Areas We Need to Address
Reminder from last week. Please emphasize this to your students:
Students need to be at school on time.
Students are NOT allowed to bring food onto campus in the mornings - Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, Gas Station Big Gulps, etc.
Students may not receive food deliveries.
Dress code is in place and enforced.
Students must wear their school ID at all times.
Restroom breaks are for 7 minutes between classes and for 30 minutes during lunch, not during the instructional time.
This combination of wearing tank-top under a zip-up jacket DOES NOT MEET DRESS CODE. Students will be held in TOR until someone can bring them a change of clothes, regardless of the time of day the violation is discovered.
