Yoga in the Library
Yoga in the Library was so much fun! A huge thanks to Mr. Matthews teaching us how breathing helps with our concentration and relaxation while leading us through yoga poses. Be on the lookout for our next yoga event!
Shoutout to Ms. Short and Ms. Gyorgy who work to make sure the library is more than a place to get books, but is the heart of the school community.

Young Entrepreneurs Academy
Each year we encourage students and families to take advantage of the Young Entrepreneur's Academy (YEA). Each of the past three years, Liberty students have had their business plans funded with seed money.
This year, congratulations to Mohamed Turay who secured funding for his startup: Wonderstar.
The Community Pitch, a Shark Tank-like pitch event for YEA BR students, hosted over 250 people at the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business. Special guests included Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and LSU College of Business Dean Jared Llorens.
Check out the pitch on Youtube.
Important Information
Message from the Principal
Patriot Community, as many of you are already aware, a phenomenal week of ACT testing was overshadowed by the choices and actions of a few individuals. I want to take time to assure you of a few things as we move forward:
The actions being shared online are not indicative of our school's culture, our student body as a whole, or our tolerance for disruption. No school is immune to the poor decisions of individual students, however, we can confidently say that these decisions and isolated actions of a few do not represent the actions or attitudes of the 1220 member student body.
All actions have consequences and disruptive actions have no place on a school campus. Please understand that this includes more than just altercations and extends into the hallways and classrooms. It also includes: refusal to follow directions, talking back to teachers, being in off-limits areas, the use of improper language, and not being on time for class.
Our data shows that while we are blessed to rarely have major disruptions, we do have a few issues that you at home can help us with:
LATE ARRIVAL - Arriving late to school is far to commonplace, which impacts a teacher's ability to start the class with consistency and settle students into the day. Additionally, regardless of being afforded 7 minutes for class change, this school year has seen more students tardy between class change than any previous year.
PICK-UP AND DROP OFF
Students are NOT allowed to be dropped off at school before 6:40 am during unsupervised hours. We understand that there are work conflicts, however, LMHS administration already opens the school 10 minutes early for drop-off and students must be supervised while on campus.
Too many students are waiting after school - unsupervised for rides. If a family cannot arrange for a student to be picked up before 3:00 pm, the student needs to get on their assigned bus to ride home.
DRESS CODE - Students are arriving to school outside of dress code and failing to/refusing to properly wear their school IDs throughout the day.
CELL PHONES - The use of cell phones and earbuds during class time provide consistent distractions. Over the ear headphones (such as Beats), are still showing up despite being prohibited at any point during the day.
LANGUAGE - Anecdotally, we have captured that our staff are having to address inappropriate language in the hallways throughout campus. There is a school-appropriate standard for acceptable language that all - students, staff, and visitors - are expected to uphold.
Updated COVID 19 Guidance
EBR has recently updated their guidance for school-site absences (students and staff) related to COVID that align with the updated CDC and LDH Guidance.
An individual diagnosed with COVID may return to school only after all of the following are present:
Symptoms are improving
Individual has completed 24 hours fever-free without the use of medicine
A doctor's note with the diagnosis is still required for the student's absence excuse.
