Impending Frigid Weather
The district leadership are monitoring the incoming timeline and severity of the arrival of extreme winter temperatures for our area.
AS OF TODAY: Students and staff are scheduled to return to school on Tuesday, January 16 on a regular schedule.
SHOULD THAT CHANGE: The district has communicated with school leadership that any decision about adjustments to the school schedule would be communicated by noon Monday.
Be warm, be safe, and be prepared. As temperatures drop, remember to protect the 4 P's:

Important Information
Course Selection Presentation Video
Students will begin selecting courses for the 24-25 School Year in English and ICT classes. Counselors will be conducting class visits January 18-25. It is imperative that students are present at school and prepared to select courses.
Please note that course selection forms will be sent home with students for parent review and signature. If course selection forms are not returned with parent signature, counselors will select student courses and schedule changes will not be available.
Parents must also sign their approval for each requested Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Enrollment (DE) course.
Below is the schedule for Counselor Classroom Visits for 9th - 11th grade students. This is not only an informational meeting, students will be selecting courses for the 2024-2025 school year.
Please review the Course Selection Booklet in advance. Students will receive a hard-copy of this book during the counselor classroom visits. This booklet includes class offerings, as well as policies regarding scheduling.
Below are the UPDATED course progressions (as of 1/12/24) for incoming 9th - 11th grade students pursuing both the STEM Pathway and the Associate's Degree. These will supersede the progressions in the Course Offering Booklets. This does not apply to the Class of 2025.
Scheduling Presentation
Included here is a copy of the 2024-2025 Course Registration Visit for classroom visits. Parents may review this presentation, along with the explanations in the Course Selection Booklet to access information provided to students regarding their schedule requests for the 2024-2025 school year.
Preparing for the ACT
The ACT Spring State Testing Date (March 13) is quickly approaching. Seniors with an ACT score 18+ and all Juniors will be taking the ACT on campus. Seniors with current ACT score <18 will take the ACT WorkKeys Exam, and all 9th and 10th grade students will take the Pre-ACT.
The ACT is used for TOPS eligibility, Scholarship competitions, and college admissions. The PreACT is used to determine scheduling placement for students in the 10th and 11th grade year.
Additionally, all of these scores are used to determine student eligibility for Final Exam Exemption.
The ACT is a test that requires advanced preparation and PRACTICE. Students who fail to adequately prepare will fail to see their scores improve.
Included in this week's memo are resources to prepare for the ACT.
Final Exam Exemption Policy
Students who are exempt from exams are excused from exam days. This year, Final Exams will be held Monday - Wednesday (5/20-22). The ONLY exam exemptions a student may earn will be through the schoolwide policy.

Senior Parents and Students
The FASFA is open. All seniors and their parents must complete the FASFA in order to be eligible to graduate from high school. This is a state law.
All Parents and students should have an FSA ID. Remember, parents who already have an FSA ID for themselves or for an older child will use the same FSA ID.
Seniors should check the Senior Google Classroom often for scholarship opportunities.
We have also included a document for you to record your logins and passwords and keep in a safe location. Remember, you will be using this information for the 2-4+ years that the student is in college.
