Making Learning Relevant
There were several football players in Mrs. Ullrich's Interactive Computing class, so she taught the concept of functions with the analogy of the football play, jet sweep. In a jet sweep a series of instructions are packaged together, so each player knows what to do when the play is called. This is similar to a function where a block of code is chunked together and given a name. When the name is called the function runs just like when the coach calls the play in a game. The coach can also pass in a parameter....does the play go left or right? Core Values: Equity, Opportunity
Members of the Chick Fil A Leadership Academy visited Magnolia Woods Elementary. 1st and 2nd grade classes got their own books in the Million Book Giveaway and our Patriot Leaders read with the classes. They then visited Mr. Brandon at our sponsoring Chick Fil A location on Burbank for the November leadership module and lunch. Core Values: Service Community Equity Integrity Opportunity
The BETA Club exemplified the core values of Community, Service, Equity, Integrity and Opportunity today when they visited the Southdowns Pre-K Center and helped out at their Fall Festival.
Our BETA Club has logged over 500 hours of volunteer hours since the start of the school year. Shoutout to Ms. Holloway and Ms. Gonzales for propelling BETA this year!
