Mohamed stood out from the 85+ applicants. We are eager to see how the class' ideas come to life as he develops and launches his own businesses through the Academy.

Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week
A huge shoutout to the student leadership of the Spanish Club for their work to bring Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week to life. Friday, at lunch, our students enjoyed cultural music from various artists and had a blast with a piñata.

Important Information
ONE WEEK LEFT!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE complete the Economic Survey Form. (This is the old paper/pencil lunch form.) https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
Liberty is scheduled to lose about $130,000 in federal funding allotment next year unless 60% of the school has a qualifying application on file.
Fee waivers and Fee Reductions for national tests such as ACT, PSAT, and AP require a verified lunch form.
No one at Liberty will see the results of the Economic Survey Form. This is managed through the Child Nutrition Office and they simply provide LMHS school counselors a confirmation list of students eligible for fee waivers and fee reductions for national exams.
Paper forms are available in the front office at request - however, online applications are preferred to ensure the most privacy.

Magnet Mania Recruiting
We are already getting geared up to start recruiting and enrolling next year's future Patriots.
Tuesday, September 26th, Liberty opens our doors from 8:00 - 10:00 am for prospective families to visit, experience our programming, and take school tours. We will be hosting information booths and performances throughout the Quad area and many of our students will be used for this event.
Core Value: Opportunity, Integrity, Service, Community, Equity
Dress Code
Parents - PLEASE HELP US OUT. Liberty has the most free dress codes in the city. However, it is imperative that the restrictions we do have on dress are adhered to.
Please make sure students are in appropriate length shorts (BASED ON SCHOOL RULES - 5" above the knee)
Students should not be tying up shirts with knots and hair ties to make them more fitted and shorter to expose midriff and lower back.
Students must have their school ID on every day throughout the entire day. (This is a serious safety issue and students should not be taking them off or tucking them into shirts and jackets during the day.)
No holes or rips in jeans or pants unless there are tights or fabric underneath the tears.
Pullovers and Jackets do not take the place of an appropriate shirt. Students must have an appropriate shirt on under their jackets. Tank Tops, Cropped tops, and spaghetti strap shirts are not allowed under the dress code, even under a jacket.
Saturday School
Saturday School is a disciplinary consequence for accumulating infractions such as: tardies, dress code issues, classroom discipline issues, and habitual violations. Saturday School will be starting up soon. Saturday School is a detention consequence that is required when assigned for disciplinary infractions. Unfortunately, Saturday School is sometimes necessary but, with the help of consistently good decisions from our Patriots, we prefer to have no assignments to Saturday School each week. Help us keep Saturday School empty by being on time to school, on time to class, attentive and appropriately engaged in class, and in dress code at all times!
