Important Information
School Resumed Friday, January 5
The second semester began on Friday, January 5. If your student was absent, they will need to seek out missed assignments and instruction and make sure they have turned in any missed work on the next A Day. Monday will be a B Day.
1st Semester Report Cards
1st Semester Report Cards with final grades will be sent home with students on Monday, January 8. For a reason we cannot identify, all report cards have a note showing up that says the 2nd Grading Period GPA is low. Please disregard that note as the 2nd Grading Period GPA is being reported as 0.00. The semester GPA will be able to be found under the S1 (Semester 1) grading column and will reflect the GPA for this semester (not the cumulative GPA).
Course Selection
Students will begin selecting courses for the 24-25 School Year in English and ICT classes. Counselors will be conducting class visits January 18-25. It is imperative that students are present at school and prepared to select courses.
You can view the 24-25 Course Selection Booklet. More resources will be available in next week's memo.
Schoolwide Late Work and Make-up Policy
There have been a number of questions about turning in missed work. Please note that the school does have an active late work and make-up policy on file in the student handbook. Teachers are not under an obligation to take work that at student fails to turn in on time outside of this school-wide policy.
Grades started over on Friday (1/5/24), so now is the time to make sure that this semester starts and continues with good study habits and turning all work in ON TIME.
Final Exam Exemption Policy
This is a reminder that students may become eligible for Final Exam Exemptions in the Spring Semester. Students who are exempt from exams are excused from exam days. This year, Final Exams will be held Monday - Wednesday (5/20-22). The ONLY exam exemptions a student may earn will be through the schoolwide policy. Students will take the ACT and PreACT tests on Tuesday, March 12th.

Senior Parents and Students
The FASFA is open. All seniors and their parents must complete the FASFA in order to be eligible to graduate from high school. This is a state law.
All Parents and students should have an FSA ID. Remember, parents who already have an FSA ID for themselves or for an older child will use the same FSA ID.
Seniors should check the Senior Google Classroom often for scholarship opportunities.
We have also included a document for you to record your logins and passwords and keep in a safe location. Remember, you will be using this information for the 2-4+ years that the student is in college.
