Mongolian is the native language of the Mongols of Mongolia. It is also spoken by the ethnic Mongols within mainland China. In total, it has between 8.5-9 million speakers.
Mongolia is known for its great historic leader Genghis Khan. Laws from his reign are still in use today. Today, one in 200 men carry the Y chromosome of Genghis Khan, due to his large number of descendents throughout the Mongol Empire.
Writing: Mongolian is written in both the Cyrillic and Mongolian script. On the internet, it is generally written with the Latin alphabet, for ease.
Word Order: It has a basic subject-object-verb word order, though ordering is semi-fluid.

Religion: 47% of Mongols identify as Buddhist, with 39% claiming ‘not religious’.
