Ganda, or Luganda, is one of the major languages spoken in Uganda. In the country it has over 5 million speakers and is spoken mainly in the Great Lakes region, including the nation’s capital city. Many Rwandans are native speakers as well. Ganda is also spoken as a second language by as many as 5.4 million people. Lusogo is closely related to Ganda, and the two are mutually intelligible.
