Leading Indicator 1.4: Teacher teams and collaborative groups regularly interact to address common issues regarding curriculum, assessment, instruction, and the achievement of all students.
2021-2022 PLC Process
For the 2021 school year, our focus has been on standardizing the process for all teams with an emphasis on Stage 3. Teams hyper-prioritized the standards, focused attention on teaching and instruction, identified areas of need, divided responsibilities for needed improvements, and shared alternative instructional practices for differentiation.
The PLC Stage 4&5 Collaboration Team (which included members from both BHS and BNHS) developed a standard document for teams to complete to calibrate grading practices, analyze student assessments, and create intervention practices.
Goal Statement #1: Curriculum Teams meet regularly lead by Content Leaders.
Goal Statement #2: PLCs meet weekly to discuss curriculum, assessments and instruction.
Template for Team Certification Process and PLC Running Agendas. Each PLC completes this form and updates during their weekly meeting. 21-22 Focus: Clarity on what student performance looks like and inter-rater reliability.

BHS is committed to taking the time during faculty meetings to use positive reinforcement to boost morale and productivity of BHS educators. Meetings always have an agenda and an objective to work towards. Teachers and administrators have been recognized for their achievements, awards and community service.

2017-2018 PLC Process Implementation & Monthly Faculty Meet.
For the 2017 school year BHS has made it an emphasis to establish and implement a PLC process that all stakeholders can board the bus and believe in. These meetings initially took place on Thursday mornings to discuss topics as the importance of common formative assessment, norm creation, norm implementation, and more!
Once collaborative teams completed the initial process (see form) they transitioned to complete the PLC process independently.
Teams use this ongoing checklist to make sure that their PLC teams are high functioning.
