Goal Statement #1: Students and their parents describe our school as a safe place.
Parents and Students are asked to give feedback whether BHS is a safe and orderly place upon entering the main office and at school functions.
These results are continuously gathered and updated as parents enter the school.

Student Accountability
At the beginning of each school year students are given a copy of the student handbook and review the key changes with their BUC CLUB teacher. Each year students also attend a "Welcome Back to School Presentation," at the beginning of each semester, that highlighted the upcoming initiatives and recognized student achievement.

Belvidere Police Officer Kaplan
BHS Resource Officer
Belvidere High School has a full time Student Resource Officer. The Belvidere Police Department Officer regularly reviews and revises current practices of Belvidere High School in an effort to create a safe learning environment for all students and employees. Administration also attends Crime Stoppers meetings to work with the community regarding school safety.
Run-Hide-Fight Initiative (Lockdown)
Teachers, staff, and students began learning and practicing a revolutionary new approach for school safety in the event of an emergency.
