DANCING FOR DISNEY

Our Year 5 pupils have been busy in rehearsals for the Disney Musicals in Schools project. Both children and staff have started to learn the notes and movements for 'Circle of Life' and 'Hakuna Matata' supported by the Disney Teaching Artists, Tom and Paul. Everyone is enjoying getting to know some of the roles in the play and persevering at singing and dancing at the same time, which can be quite tricky! Our three Disney rules are: Give respect to get respect; everybody plays; and have serious... fun! All involved are certainly fulfilling the final rule!

Finally we were very excited to see our story appear in the very first edition of the new Haringey Community Press. Did you spot our headline? Take a look on page 14 to have a read.

KINDNESS CONTRACT

In recognition of November's Anti Bullying Week and World Children's Day, all children in our school from Nursery to Year 6 have signed a 'World Kindness Contract'. This powerful project is proudly displayed in the Main Office not far from our 'Gratitude Rainbow' where it can be seen by all of our families and visitors. This is an important place to reflect and remember to be kind to everyone, no matter who they are, where they are from and how we are feeling.

RECYCLE TO READ

Our school is now signed up to the Recycle to read programme. We are collecting unwanted (functioning) electronic devices and broken (non electrical) toys. This recycling initiative enables us to correctly recycle unwanted items while allowing our school to exchange collected items for reading books and recycled appropriately as part of a take back scheme.

WINTER FUNDRAISING

Festive Jumper Day is on Friday 10th December all staff and pupils are invited to make £2 donation to Save the Children in exchange for wearing their favourite wintery jumper for the day. In addition to this the school will be raising our own funds by selling printed calendars of children in their festive jumper with a winter scene back drop, £5. Donation for both Save the Children and the Winter Warmer Photo can be made on your Parent Mail account.

CLOTHING DONATIONS

Our parent volunteers have kindly agreed to support the school to raise funds through clothing donations. The school has signed up to the 'Happy School Bag' project. This recycling scheme allows schools to raise funds by collecting second hand quality clothing which can be reused. We are calling for clothing donations to be made to help us raise maximum funds (30p per Kilo). Only quality items can be included in the weight so please check the requirements carefully before making a donation. Please bring your donations to the Main Office for the attention of Ms Marie (pastoral care). If you need any extra donation bags these can be collected from the Main Office.

Please make any donations before:

THURSDAY 2nd DECEMBER

We would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who has donated so far!

FEELING FESTIVE

The school's catering company 'Lunchtime Co.' have generously donated funds to support the purchase of a Christmas tree for the Dining Hall this year. This will be the first year that we have displayed a christmas tree in the dinner hall and so we are looking for an extra special touch. We are calling upon all pupils and staff to create a beautiful decoration to go onto the tree (christmas themed or winter themed). Wooden star shape cutouts can be purchased for £1 each on Parent Mail. Please decorate your star at home and return your decoration so that it can be displayed on the tree.
