ALADDIN

The enchanting city of Agrabah came to life at Devonshire Hill Primary School, Tottenham during the school's recent production of Aladdin. Year 5 performers captured their audience with a vibrant display of energetic singing, dancing and acting. Families and staff were filled with pride as months of hard work came together in such a magical celebration. This experience has given children a new found confidence and memories that they will treasure forever. Devonshire Hill are in their second year working towards the Disney Musicals in Schools programme and the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves from beginning to end.

We can't wait to do it all again next year which will open up new opportunities for children to develop even more skills as they mentor the next generation of performers.

LIVE SCIENCE

The Royal Institute of Science visited our children and families at Devonshire Hill. Their fantastic interactive show was full of engaging experiments and demonstrations all about energy.

The Main Hall was filled with the sounds of science and the 'pops' and 'bangs' were quickly followed by those of amazement from all children and adults in the audience. Everyone had a wonderful day powered by all things science. What an incredible way to ignite interest and passion into our young scientists.

Well done to all children who took part in the show by volunteering their knowledge and skills to help with experiments. Keep up the hard work!

100% ATTENDANCE

It's a huge achievement to attended school every day! Congratulations to the 130 children and families for their commitment to attending school for 100% of Spring Term 2023.

We celebrated this success with a special certificate and a session on the school's inflatable obstacle course, which was paired with music and lights.

Children in Lynch House also joined the energetic event in order to celebrate the exciting news that they had won the most house points over the course of the Spring term!

This is excellent everybody who will be awarded during the Summer Term?

BASKETBALL

Congratulations to the Year 6 children who represented Devonshire Hill Primary School at the recent Haringey Basketball Competition! The event took place at Alexandra Park School and included teams from a variety of different primary schools in the local area. The friendly competition created the perfect atmosphere for our young athletes to demonstrate their skill and great sportsmanship. Children demonstrated positivity, excellent teamwork and remained focused on the game.

We are very proud of their achievements and we are looking forward to watching them excel in future sporting events.

FUNDRAISING

Our recent fundraising events have demonstrated again how generous the Devonshire Hill commuity is! We are grateful to everyone who supported the Jolly Jar raffle and The Big Easter FUNdraisers. A huge congratulations if you were a lucky prize winner! Donations will go towards supporting the named charities, even more fun-filled experiences for the children, and for future events that bring our school community together. We are grateful to have wonderful families to support and be a part of this important cause where everyone belongs.

Jolly Jars - £131.00
£65.50 to Comic Relief

WORLD BOOK DAY

To celebrate World Book Day, children and staff at Devonshire Hill dressed as their favourite book characters for the day. Popular characters included Harry Potter and the Cat in the Hat! Whoever you dressed as, your love for reading inspired many children and adults on this very special day. Reading is an essential skill that benefits comprehension, imagination, knowledge, wellbeing and understanding of the world. We must continue to develop a positive attitude towards books and the magic of reading both in school and at home.

Please continue to encourage our young readers to develop their lifelong love of learning by supporting them to succeed with their reading skills.

PARENT GOVERNOR

We have a brilliant community of parents/carers/family at our school who would successfully fulfil the role of Parent Governor. Please see below:

Are you interested in contributing to the success and direction of the school?

There is currently a Parent Governor vacancy on the school’s Governing Body. This is an extremely important role in the leadership of the school and a very interesting and rewarding opportunity for the right person.
