Year 5 Weekly Overview
Year 5 Weekly Overview
After a busy half term, the Year 5 team would like to say a huge 'Thank you' for all of your support. A term, which has been filled with Singing Sand Dunes trip, Blue Pearl camp, baking, assemblies, Charity day and Mental Health Week!
We hope you have a restful mid-term break and look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Sunday 16th February, for our Green Day.
Due to matters beyond our control, Green Day will now take place on Sunday 16th February
As part of our 'Are we damaging our Earth?' topic, Year 5 will take part in a 'Green day'. This will be a day dedicated towards understanding how we can act contribute to the sustainability of our planet, as global citizens.
The children are invited to wear either green clothing or clothes made fom recycled materials. (The more creative, the better!)
In the lead up to this day, we ask that parents can collect any recycled bottles, cardboard, toilet paper rolls or yoghurt pots for some of the activities we have planned.
On Thursday 20th February, parents are invited to come into class between 7:30am and 8:00am to look at some of the children's work from Green Day. We look forward to welcoming you.
We are very happy that our inaugural Spring Fair will run on Friday 21st of February and we need your help! Please sign up to the Year 5 activity (Adventure Playground) by clicking on the following link :

You can sign up for as many or few slots as you would like but please do not sign up over a slot that has been taken. Should you wish to volunteer but all slots are taken, Miss Forrest will send out an additional sign up if required closer to time. School fairs are a wonderful community event and they can't run without your generous support. Thanks in advance.

In Year 5, children come into class by themselves in the morning. The class teachers and TA’s will be in the classroom ready to greet the children.
At the end of the day, 5A and 5B teachers will bring the children onto the shaded playground area at 2pm (1pm Thursdays) to meet you. 5C and 5D will assemble at the side of block E, outside the 5C classroom. The Year 5 team will be around to point you in the right direction.
Please remember that parents are not to enter classrooms. The school day begins at 7:30am and pick-up is from the shaded playground at 2:00pm. REMINDER: We finish at 1:00pm on a Thursday
Please bring a full water bottle to school each day.
Please bring a hat everyday.
