What is SSC?
SSC allows students to have a voice in district decision making and helps develop student leadership opportunities connecting to district administration and the Board of Education. SSC helps establish effective two-way communication between the district administration and students; Provide administration with feedback and insight from the students' perspective on district processes, policies and initiatives to ensure that the needs of students are included as decisions are made in the district; Share important district information and broaden students understanding of school-related issues; and Build student aptitude as it relates to communication, leadership, advocacy and civic engagement.
When does SSC meet?
SSC meets monthly during Flex Time.
How does SSC benefit students?
SSC benefits students by amplifying their voices, developing leadership and civic skills, and fostering systemic improvements in schools through direct communication with district leaders. SSC has district benefits that include gaining valuable student perspectives on school issues and creating a more engaged and positive school culture.
