What is DECA?
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA is a not-for-profit organization that prepares students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Students participate in competitive events, chapter campaigns, online simulations, and school-based enterprises.
When does DECA meet?
DECA meets monthly outside of standard school hours. DECA participates in various out of school competitions, conferences, and service activities.
How does DECA benefit students?
DECA members learn skills like problem solving, communication, teamwork, and personal and professional behavior. They also develop leadership and presentation skills, which can help them become more confident. DECA members can participate in school-based enterprises (Korner Store), which are entrepreneurial operations that provide goods and services to the school community. Participating in DECA helps students build business management, supervision, and leadership skills.
