Dedham High School Computer Based Testing (CBT)

Dedham High School students will be taking the MCAS on their Chromebook for the first time, starting at the end of March. Dedham Middle School, as well as all four elementary schools, have taken the CBT using their Chromebooks in previous years. This year, grades 3-8 and 10 will all be taking the test online. Teachers will be given professional development, at the end of February, to help prepare them to administrator the test. The teachers and students will also participate in a practice test two weeks prior to taking the actual exam. Below is a the MCAS testing schedule created by the office of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.

State of the Art IT at the New Early Childhood Center

The New Early Childhood Center State of the Art Facility

The IT team has been working to support the technology transition to the New Early Childhood Center. Over the past month, over 100 of the latest version of iPads have been prepared, put in charging containers and issued to teachers. In addition, the iPad Airs, which the ECEC teachers previously used, will be repurposed throughout the district. The classrooms will have interactive whiteboards and brand new computers. During the transition, the IT team will be there to support the needs of the teachers and staff. It's an exciting time for Dedham Public Schools!
