Application Selection
Dedham Public Schools seeks to ensure the protection of the privacy of students. This is in support of the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Massachusetts student record regulations, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA), etcetera . We have been working diligently to implement effective practices to ensure that student privacy is protected.
We have various ways to ensure that our student data is always protected. In addition we have an application vetting procedure to review apps requested in the District prior to using third party vendors which provide online services to support teaching and learning in the classroom. Working with the Massachusetts Student Privacy Alliance we have begun to develop a list of applications that have been approved when working with students.
