Dedham Public Schools Educational Technology

Welcome to the Dedham Public Schools Educational Technology Site

Introduction

The Dedham Public Schools strive to be “Future Ready” to benefit every student. Dedham is a recognized leader in accelerating the transformation of schools through the effective use of digital learning strategies. This success comes from the sustained support of the community, administrators, teachers, staff, parents and students who understand the ever changing landscape of technology in education. Change is not embraced for change sake. Change is embraced for improvement. The 2016 National Education Technology Plan emphasizes the urgent national priority to ensure personal growth, to promote prosperity, and to remain competitive in our global economy. John Carver, Superintendent of Schools of a small district in Iowa, notes three pillars of leadership attributes essential to change: the courage to identify challenges and create a sense of urgency; the openness to invest time, build trust, and cultivate relationships with stakeholders; and the need for constant availability, visibility, and ownership as the drivers and face of change. Carver questioned, “Do we love our kids enough to stop doing the things that do not work anymore?” In Dedham the answer has been and continues to be “Yes!”
