Students will work on an illustration of the historical figure. Why was a biography written about this person? How did this person inspire change?
Choose: Students can choose what person they would like to research that inspires change.
Act: Students to investigate ways in which he/she can inspire change in their community.
Reflect: Students reflect on the person and what changes they made to affect their community.
Voice: Students have an opportunity to pick a selection of historical figures and research more information on him/her.
Choice: Students can pick from historical figures that we studied and which one they would like to write/talk about what inspired them.
Ownership: Students will present to the class what historical figure they found inspirational and why.
Causation: The understanding that things do not just happen, that there are causal relationships at work, and that actions have consequences.
Connection: The understanding that we live in a world of interacting systems in which the actions of any individual element affect others.
Reflection: The understanding that there are different ways of knowing and that it is important to reflect on our conclusion, to consider our methods of reasoning, and the quality and the reliability of the evidence we have considered.
