Students will create an original holiday, then present that holiday to the class in the format they choose.
Voice: Students will be able to choose what they say to veterans while writing letters/cards.
Choice: Students will choose what they want and need for holiday gifts.
Ownership: Students will reflect on their own use of resources. Students will reflect on their own cultural expression of holiday traditions.
Choose: Students will write a letter or card to a veteran.
Act: Students will celebrate a veteran. Those letters or cards will be delivered to the VA.
Reflect: How do we connect to one another through our differences?
Form: The understanding that everything has a form with recognizable features that can be observed, identified, described and categorized.

Math: making observations, noticing differences, representing amounts
Reading: Literary Elements of fairytales and fables; Letter Writing;
Social Studies: Holidays & traditions around the world
Science: Natural Resources, collecting and recording data.
