March 30th - May 27th
Explore the different seasons and understand how all living creatures adapt to those seasons.
Choose: Students will be given ownership to create their own storylines of stories that happen in different seasons. They will speak about how they can do different activities, wear different things, and see different things in different seasons.
Act: After brainstorming, the students will create a project where they illustrate and label themselves doing an activity in one season.
Reflect: Students will think-pair-share with their peers to compare and share the different seasons.
Voice: Why do we have to care for the earth, its different environments and the organisms that share the Earth with us?
Choice: Students will be able to discuss how to become responsible caretakers of the earth and its many different inhabitants.
Ownership: Students can discuss and implement their learning by recycling at home and in the classroom, good healthy snack choices, exercise outside during recess and PE time.
Their engagement with the activities supplied will coincide with our current unit.
Small group implementation will reinforce concepts as well.
Causation: Why is it like this? The understanding that things do not just happen, that there are causal relationships at work, and that actions have consequences.
Change: How is it changing? The understanding that change is the process of movement from one state to another. It is universal and inevitable.
Responsibility: What is our responsibility? The understanding that people make choices based on their understandings and the actions they take as a result do make a difference.
