We are off to a great start in 8th grade.  In math, we are learning the importance of math discourse.  Math discourse empowers students to take responsibility for their own learning,  allows discussions to help build math confidence and math vocabulary,  discussions allow for different perspectives, builds community, and fosters critical thinking skills. 

We have been busy in Honors Algebra! We finished up our units on solving equations and inequalities, and now will be moving on to linear functions. Students have been working with peers, and even pretended to be a math teacher. We are showing great progress on solving as well as critical thinking skills. This class is a semester long course, so note that the Q1 grade is our midterm grade.
