Congratulations to the 2023 DMS Cheer Team for their amazing victory at the D300 Cheer Competition on Saturday, December 16. Out of all the teams that took part, DMS placed 1st, beating Barrington Middle School - (Prairie Campus), Heineman Middle School, Carpentersville Middle School, Westfield Community School, and Hampshire Middle School. The DMS cheerleaders worked really hard to prepare for this competition, spending a ton of time practicing in addition to cheering at home basketball games. Well done to the incredible 2023 DMS Cheer Team!
Patiently waiting to hear the results!
8th Grade Boys Basketball had a season of growth and learning. The A team finished 3rd place in the district with a record of 4-5. The B team finished 1st place in the district at 8-1, with their only loss coming to AMS. Both teams learned how to follow offensive movements and counters, and defensively learned strong man to man defensive principles and a run and jump press. Coach Bailye was very pleased to be able to coach such a fine group of gentlemen.
From way down town!!!!
The POMS Squad had an exciting season performing sidelines and halftime routines at both the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball home games. We had a fun time traveling to CMS with the 8th grade team for Districts. The team worked hard and had fun along the way. We had our Countdown to Competition Spirit Week with themed days that led up to our D300 Middle School Cheer and Dance Competition at DCHS. It was THE best performance and we won 2nd place! I am so, so proud of the team’s hard work and dedication! The coaches would like to thank all of the girls, parents/families, staff, and admin who supported us along the way! We couldn’t have done it without you! XOXO, Coaches Stanley, Paige, Sofiya, and Macenzie
Our team with their 2nd Place Trophy!
Ready for another great half time performance!
The season was successful for the 7th grade team. We learned about fundamentals and developed a sense of unity while competing during every game. The best thing about this team is that we never gave up. Go Cardunals!
Our records were:
A team: 5-3, lost in the semifinials
B team: 7-1
