This year in 6th grade we will be studying the ancient world. However, before we learn about the ancient world, our students need to understand the Earth first. This is why we start with a unit on Geography because, as students will learn throughout the year, where you live...effects how you live.
The 7th grade year sees students begin to investigate American History from European Exploration through Reconstruction following the Civil War. We will use map skills as well Primary source documents to learn how the English colonies were formed.
We are starting our year off strong with the Industrial Revolution and Immigration. Your child will learn about the shift in manufacturing, the increase in jobs, working conditions/child labor, and the change in society that brought people overseas for a better life.
