Cardunal Families,

The first semester really flew by and we're so proud of all that our students have accomplished thus far.  Our students showed tremendous growth with their iReady scores compared to their fall diagnostic test.  

There are three major highlights for our i-Ready Reading scores:

1.  Our mid or above grade level (the highest level) increased by 9%.  (100 students!)

2. Our 3 or more grade levels (the lowest level) decreased by 3%.  (38 students!)

3. Together, that gave us a 10% increase in students scoring on grade level! (110 students!) 

There are three major highlights for our i-Ready Math scores:

1.  Our mid or above grade level (the highest level) increased by 6%.  (70 students!)

2. Our 3 or more grade levels (the lowest level) decreased by 4%.  (38 students!)

3. Together, that gave us a 10% increase in students scoring on grade level!  (119 students!) 

We are welcoming a new staff member to our DMS family starting Vanessa Beere.  Mrs. Beere will be teaching 8th and 6th grade science.  She comes to our team with over a decade of middle school teaching experience and we're very happy to have her with us.

We are saying goodbye to an incredible staff member at DMS, Mrs. Susie Stanley.  Mrs. Stanley served as our media para for the last 9 years.  We are truly going to miss Mrs. Stanley and we wish her the best of luck with her future endeavor.

For the winter season, girls basketball and wrestling are going to be in full swing upon return from winter break.
