Goal: By 12/01/2023, The student will discriminate speech on the basis of segmental features by identifying or producing target sounds in a series of orally presented words with 80% accuracy in 4 out 5 trials as measured by SLP data collection.
Intervention Implementation: Intervention will be implemented with verbal cueing as needed. Goal will be continuosly worked on as an introduction into therapy each session. The student will listen to a verbally presented sound that they will identify during various sorting and interactive book activities. Visual cueing will be provided to aid the students ability to identify the sound.
Data Tracking: Data will be tracked using a plus and minus system throughout the session.
Ling 10 Sounds can be used to check that a child is hearing the range of speech sounds needed to learn language.
This activity comes prepared with worksheets that incorporate all 10 of the Ling 10 sounds. The first pages would be cut out and used as flashcards to introduce each of the sounds. The worksheets to follow would be used to match the picture with the sound that the child hears. A data collecting sheet comes prepared with the worksheets.
The flashcards can be used as a stimuli for auditory bombardment to begin sessions to follow.
EBP Description: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a version of the Ling-6 sounds for evaluation of aided detection thresholds. Average normal sound field thresholds were 1dB HL. Aided thresholds for adults varied with unaided hearing level and were better for low-frequency sounds. Evidence based practice for the newly established Ling 10 sounds is limited.
