Signing in to Chrome syncs your browser history, bookmarks, and themes. Sign in with your St. Scholastica account:
Open a new Chrome window.
Click the Profile icon in the top-right (grey circle with an abstract person inside).
Sign into your St. Scholastica Google Account.
To sync your information across all devices, click Turn on sync, then Turn on.
Chrome saves data to optimize performance. However, sometimes it saves, or "caches," old data. If you struggle to refresh and see updated content, or Chrome simply seems to be acting strangely, try:
Shortcut = CTRL + shift + delete
Choose what you would like to clear:
Browsing history.
Cookies and other site data. Note: This will sign you out of most accounts.
Caches images and files.
Click Clear Data.
Sometimes you might need to have many tabs open at once but lose track of where each one is in the lineup. Try creating tab groups!
Create a new tab group
Right-click any tab.
Click Add tab to new group, or, if you already have a group created click Add tab to group > New group.
Type in a name for the group.
Choose a color.
Add a tab to an existing group
Either:
Click and drag the tab into the group or
Right-click the tab and choose Add tab to group > Group Name.
Remove a tab from a group
Right-click the tab you want to remove.
Click Remove from group.
Delete a tab group
Right-click any tab in the group.
Click Delete group.
So many tabs... To locate a specific tab (even a recently closed tab!):
Click the down-caret to the left of the minimize button.
Type in words in the tab name.
Click the desired tab in the list of results.

Chrome extensions increase the capabilities of your browser. Some examples include:
Screencastify screen recorder.
Read&Write for accessibility.
Adblockers.
Grammarly.
Focus timers.
Annotation tools.

Note: It's best to only install extensions from trusted companies and to always check to see what information the extension collects upon installation.
Browsing incognito does not save your browser history, cookies, or site data. However, it does save any files you have downloaded and your Internet service provider, St. Scholastica, and sites that you visit still collect activity data.
To browse incognito:
Right-click the Chrome icon on your taskbar or desktop.
Click New incognito window.
Chrome live captions automatically begin when any audio plays within the browser. This feature might be helpful for understanding content without captions already built-in.
To enable:
Click the three vertical dots in the top-right of Chrome.
Click Settings.
Click Advanced in the left-side menu.
Click Accessibility.
Ensure that the Live Caption switch is on.
Captions will appear on any tab with audio. You can change the caption box's position on the screen by clicking and dragging it anywhere.
