Sung Chan Song was an avid member of the CHS Music Department for all four years he attended CHS. Whether he was teaching students as a section leader in the marching band or providing the soundtrack for the annual Spring Musical, Sung Chan constantly showed his passion and dedication to CHS and the music department. During school, he was a lead trumpet player in both the Marching Band and the Concert Band every year. And outside of school, Sung Chan took part in such extracurriculars as Jazz Band where he had the chance to perform at School Concerts and Trumpets Jazz Club as well as Pit Orchestra for shows like “42nd Street,” “Peter Pan,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” and “The Drowsy Chaperone”. Sung Chan also played trumpet in the Brass Quintet which played at the local Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony, both Winter and Spring Concerts, and performed small annual shows at the Senior Center in Cresskill.
After graduating in 2017, Sung Chan moved from Cresskill to South Korea where he is now attending college at the Pohang University of Science and Technology. At college, he continues to pursue his love for music alongside his academic studies. Sung Chan now spends a majority of his time outside of school dedicated to a special music club where he sings, plays guitar, and enjoys trying out new instruments like the Toca.
