During his time at Cresskill, Wonchul (Patrick) was very active and involved within the music department. He took part in various instrumental groups primarily playing the trumpet. Not only was he devoted to the concert band and the marching band throughout his four years of high school, but he was also heavily involved in the Jazz Band, which took part in a great deal of activities and performances outside of school. He also was a member of the Pit Orchestra, with which he performed with in four years worth of school musicals.
After graduating from Cresskill, Patrick went on to Berklee College of Music to continue studying his passion in Music Education and Composition. He now takes part in the Audire Soundtrack Choir and Orchestra at Berklee and uses what he has learned so far in his musical career to compose his own musical arrangements in his free time.
Patrick’s dearest memories of Cresskill are those from his time performing with the Music Department. Whether he was playing the soundtrack to “Peter Pan” with the Pit Orchestra his senior year or learning drill alongside his best friends during the annual Marching Band band camp, Patrick cherishes his time spent playing music with Cresskill groups, especially the Jazz Band. Some of his favorite performances alongside the Jazz Band include their recording session in Englewood at the Bergen PAC Recording Studio and their time at the Jazz Festival at Mason Gross School of the Arts.
