During her academic career, Cindy Savage (Stahl) was an engaged member of the Cresskill High School Music Department, partaking in multiple instrumental and vocal groups. Cindy was a member of the concert and marching band for all six years of high school. She was also a member of the concert choir for six years as well as being involved with Madrigals for two years.
After graduating from Cresskill High School, Cindy went on to pursue a career within the sciences, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Science Education from Rider College. She also earned a Master’s degree in Biology from Montclair State University as well as a second Master’s degree in Secondary Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College. In addition, Cindy has taught biology at Westwood High School for 35 years as of now.
Despite a full schedule as a teacher, music still remains a part of Cindy’s life. She was a member of the Bergen Chorale for six years and is a member of her local church choir.
Some of Cindy’s fondest memories from her time are regarding the various trips and competitions the band would take part in, as well as the frigid temperatures they would endure at the Clifton Band Festival. Cindy also fondly remembers her past band director Larry Meade saying that being a member of his band got her through high school.
