During his four years of high school, Ryan Jaccoi did everything instrumentally that he could. Following a passion for rhythm, Ryan was a member of the marching band where he played both snare drum and quints. He was a member of the percussion section in the concert band as well. Additionally, Ryan participated in the Jazz Band where he played the drum set, and was a member of both the orchestra and the pit band. Not stopping with just playing instruments, Ryan also took classes that explored the technological side of music.
After high school, Ryan went on to Kean University (class of 2018) where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Ryan also has worked with several marching bands, and is currently the percussion instructor for the Butler High School Marching Band. Ryan was also a member of the Cresskill High School Marching Band staff for the 2018 season. In December of 2018, Ryan became a teacher at Ronald Reagan Academy No. 30 in Elizabeth NJ, where he currently teaches Kindergarten through eighth grade students general music and choir.
Despite his many teaching jobs, Ryan still able to play in his spare time. He is a member of the New Jersey Wind Symphony and plays various gigs on his own ranging from musicals and orchestras to church performances and rock band shows. Ryan continues to thrive as a very well rounded musician.
Ryan recounts that his music-related activities were some of his favorite moments of his time spent as a student at CHS. Some highlights include the trips to Disney World in Orlando, Florida as well as the multiple band festivals at Montclair State University, meeting new people and hanging out with his friends in the band.
