Jillian Pianghi was a very involved member within the music department. She was a four year member of the concert choir where she sang soprano, as well as the concert band where she played clarinet. She was participated in the marching band as a member of the color guard. For five years, dating back to middle school, she was a member of the principal players where she performed various roles.
After high school, Jillian went on to Dominican College where she earned her Bachelor’s degree (2018) and continued on to attempt to earn her Master’s Degree (2019) in education for students with severe disabilities. She is currently working as one on one aide in the Bogota School District.
Throughout college, Jillian was involved the theatre club, a cappella group, as well as talent shows at Dominican College. With her a cappella group she sang the national at a Mets vs Nationals game. She personally was asked to sing the national anthem at the commencement last year as well as the hooding ceremony for the Teacher Education Master’s Program. Her sister Cheryl Pianghi and herself performed the song God Bless America at a Jersey Jackals game. She is also part of a private group for singing. Within this group she has solo performed at Webster Hall and the Triad Theatre in New York. She is planning on performing at Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center in New York within the next few months.
Jillian’s favorite memories revolve around the various Band Festivals. Everything that occured on those days were enjoyable to her. From guard breakfasts, to taking tons of pictures, to the actual performances, to the trips afterwards to Fuddruckers. She recalls every moment fondly and especially remembers when CHS was the first band to perform her senior year.
