Eddie Wilkin was a very active member of the Cresskill High School Music Department, having participated in various activities within the vocal, instrumental and theatre programs. Eddie was a member of the Concert Choir, Concert Band, Vocal Ensemble, Marching Band and All-School Musicals, including his senior year performance as the Cowardly Lion in “Wizard of Oz.” Eddie was also the Drum Major of the marching band in the fall of 2007.
Upon graduation from CHS, Eddie continued his music studies, earning a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education from Castleton University (Class of 2012) and a Masters of Music in Choral and Orchestra Conducting from University of Rhode Island (Class of 2015.) Eddie is currently pursuing his second Masters degree, this time in Music Education from Castleton University (anticipated class of 2019) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of new England (anticipated class of 2020.)
While keeping up a busy continuing education schedule, Eddie is also working full time as the Director of Choral Activities at Fair Haven Union High School in Vermont. He is also the Director of Music Ministry at Union Church of Proctor and directs the Rutland City band. Eddie is also the Director and Founder of a group entitled the Slate Valley Singers.
Other honors for Eddie include being a guest conductor at various festivals in the New England area, the district president of the Green Mountain Music District and the student activities chair of the Vermont chapter of ACDA, the American Choral Directors Association.
Eddie’s favorite memories of his time at CHS include being a part of the musicals, marching band, and heading out on trips including singing at Carnegie Hall multiple times and travelling to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
