Grade Equivalent (GE) and Age Equivalent (AE) scores are commonly used, yet often misunderstood metrics; their simplicity means that they don't always show the full picture.
Dr. Ray Christner compiled this guidance sheet that explains the difference between age and grade equivalent scores in relation to other results calculated when scoring assessments.

Zoom has an AI Companion feature that you can turn on and use to monitor your hosted zoom meetings. Once the meeting is complete it will then email you an AI summary of what was discussed. This can be used to document meetings and/or insert into your Prior Written Notices. Be sure you are reading over the summary for accuracy prior to inserting into a PWN though!
Click link below for instructions on how to turn this feature on.

"...When parents do not understand that a child is experiencing problems or realize the extent of the child's difficulties, they are less likely to engage in the process of making important decisions, and their role in the overall process is diminished (Mehan et al., 1986; Weddig, 1984). In their analysis of IEP meetings, Harry and colleagues (1995) suggested that test results using complex language had a silencing effect on parents’ participation, decreased their ability to understand information presented to them, and reduced their ability to advocate for their children in critical decision making meetings.
As we adjust to a new normal in many other aspects of service delivery, we propose using consumer-focused psychological reports as a way forward. Consumer-focused reports explicitly address referral concerns and questions by communicating information effectively in clear behavioral terms and providing easily understood recommendations (Harvey, 2006; Mastoras et al., 2011). Compared to reports that use technical jargon and psychometric descriptions centered around individual test results, consumer-focused reports focus on readability and providing accessible, integrated information for decision making (Lichtenstein, 2013a,b; Mastoras et al., 2011). It is crucial that parents and caregivers can easily understand the content of psychological reports in order to meaningfully advocate for their child and engage in the special education process."

Most scoring can be done online through the website that hosts the scales or assessments. However, there are several scales and assessments that must be hand-scored. The scoring manuals found in the link include CTONI-2, GARS-3, BES-4, WJ-IV Writing Samples, and KTEA Manual.
HELPFUL HINT!
If you are looking for a manual and cannot find it, a lot of them can be found on Q-interactive! Under "support tab" click on "test materials" on the left hand side of the screen. Link HERE
Templates are available for all school psychologists to use when writing the assessment results in IEP Anywhere
Part 1s that psychs can use to give to teachers to document student progress
The rating scales in the MHS scoring website allows both a comparative and a progress monitoring report option. For example, as long as you complete 2+ administrations of the CEFI on the student, you can then run a progress report of up to 4 administrations. Please remember if you are using rating scales for progress monitoring then the purpose is to track response to intervention, and it is not to screen for a special education disability. Make sure that is clear with both staff and parents.
How to Access Progress and Comparative Report Features in MHS
Make sure you have 2+ administrations for the chosen scale (e.g. two teacher CEFI scales completed to run progress report). Also, be sure that you have already created interpretative reports for the 2+ scales. This will allow the progress and comparative report feature option to appear.
When you click on “generate report” and then chosen scale…you’ll see an option for progress monitoring report (See screenshot below).
Once you have 2+ completed scales and their interpretative reports created then you can choose either the progress monitoring or comparative report option. With the comparative make sure you have more than one rater for the child completed (parent, teacher, self).

The Childhood Development Center completes all the autism evaluations at Children's Hospital and stores their reports within their department. If you have a release signed (CCS release or Children's release) by the parent to allow access to Children's Hospital records then you can email that release (PDF only) to BHVirtualServicesCDC@nationwidechildrens.org This email is checked by staff and then the information is uploaded into an electronic medical records folder that is shared by all Children's Hospital employees. Staff can then refer to this folder to find the release after you notify them that the release was sent to the email. Also, if a family has access to their child’s MyChart (which allows a parent electronic access to their child’s chart) they can view the Child Development Center completed psychological evaluations, which could be downloaded and sent to you. Below are a couple of additional things to consider regarding the email.
This email is for Child Development Center patients only
Please include child’s DOB and full name in the email
This email is NOT for use with scheduling, crisis, or clinical matters. Purely for sharing of documents.
Documents in a .pdf file work best
The documents will be uploaded into the child’s official medical records so that all at NCH can view them.
Click this link if you want to use the Children's Hospital release form.
School staff can also send educational records (attendance, grades, ETRs, IEPs, etc.) to this email as well so it can be uploaded into the child's Children's Hospital records. Make sure a parent has signed a release to allow this information to be shared with Children's Hospital.
