Intervention Spotlight
Interleaved Practice
Interleaved practice is a retrieval based intervention strategy that helps students to incorporate existing knowledge and skills with new ones. Studies show it leads to better long term retention and the improved ability to transfer learned knowledge.
According to Kyle Wagner, School Psychology professor at the University of Findlay, "an interleaved practice schedule involves choosing 3 unknown targets and mixing them randomly for about 7 iterations per practice session."

Curriculum Based Measures (CBM)
CCS has a variety of CBM measures to use and help determine if a student is making progress.
Below are links for the iReady norms for math and reading. Please remember that this data is only one data point and should not be used to solely determine whether to suspect a disability or find a student eligible for a disability. This information should be used along with several other data points to make decisions. Students have had recent changes in the curriculum, lack of in-person instruction, and various other obstacles that have likely impacted their current scores, therefore this should be considered a baseline score.
