When students enrol, they can tell us about a disability or learning difference that may impact on their learning. They are also invited to discuss their needs with the Access, Inclusion and Support (AIS) team. If appropriate the AIS team will share this information with tutors via a Reasonable Adjustment Plan (RAP).
As a course tutor you can see if any of your students have disclosed an access or support need (and/or have a RAP) on EBS On Track. For guidance on how to access this, please click on the button on the left.
1) Click on All My Courses on the left side of the screen. You can sort your courses using the table headings.
2) Click on the course Event name to view.
This will take you to the Register Details page.
The RAPs can be found under the heading: Students with access or additional learning support needs. Select the downward arrow on the right to expand; then click on the RAP link under ‘View Reasonable Adjustment Plan (RAP)’.
If a student's name is there but there is no RAP, this means the student has declared a need but has NOT requested support from the AIS team, or that the RAP is pending. Sometimes the student simply wants the course tutor to be aware of their disability or learning difference.
What information is provided in RAPs?
The RAP will identify potential barriers to inclusion and recommend adjustments and strategies tutors can use to support students.
Where applicable, the RAP will include more detailed information about the type of planned support (e.g. 1:1 tutorial support or in-class support) and the names of any support staff.
What do you need to do with RAPs?
Tutors are expected to read their RAPs so they can accommodate their students’ access and support needs.
It is our responsibility under the Equality Act 2010 to include all our students, so tutors’ role in this is vital.
