These videos, aimed at learners, explain fire evacuation procedures at Keeley Street and the Wellbeing Centre.
If the fire alarm sounds or you see a flashing fire warning light:
Tell your students to stay calm and evacuate from the building by the nearest route without collecting belongings
Close windows and doors and switch off electrical equipment if it does not delay you, do not lock classrooms
Shut down any hazardous processes if it does not delay you
Collect the Blue room number from the room board and ensure you are the last person out of the classroom
Ask your students to assemble at the following locations
Keeley Street
The assembly point is the corner of Kean Street
Wellbeing Centre
The assembly point is in the Café at the main site in Keeley street
6. If you or a student requires assistance to evacuate the building please go to the refuge point on your floor which are located here:
7. Fire Marshalls check all areas on a floor including the refuge points.
8. Fire Marshalls are assigned to each floor of this building and carry out a sweep of all areas, including the refuge areas. Please make yourself known to the Fire Marshalls.
9. We use evacuation chairs to carry people to safety
10.As part of our evacuation strategy we also can provide the following support if required:
· Assistance from one or two people to help you walk downstairs
· Assistance for a person with a dog
· Help opening doors
· Carry your wheelchair
FIRE ALARM TESTING
Fire alarm tests are carried out at the following times each week:
Keeley Street - Every Friday at 09:45 hrs
Photography Studio - Every Wednesday at 08:00 hrs
Wellbeing Centre- - Every Wednesday at 08:00 hrs
FIRE DRILLS
Unannounced fire drills are conducted as follows:
Keeley Street
Twice a term:
Daytime, between 10:00 and 14:00hrs.
Either a weekday evening between 17:30 and 19:30 hrs or Weekend between 10:00 – 13:00 hrs
Wellbeing Centre
Once a term:
Daytime, between 10:00 and 15:00hrs
