Film Noir

Take light and shadow to the extreme with techniques made famous in the 1940's!

Film Noir was a style or genre of cinematographic film marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace. It used intense light and shadow to evoke moody, mysterious ambiance, especially in old timey detective movies and American thrillers.

Choose this project if you want to work with costumes and dramatic lighting!

Mastering Mood

This project option allows you to explore how to use light, shadow, and color to create unique moods in an image. You will learn how to manipulate lighting angles, size, distance and hue to create a desired effect.

Choose this project if you want to create a mood board!

Practicing like the Pros

In this project option, you will learn how the pros achieve specific lighting conditions through experimentation and trial and error.

Choose this project if you want to try and replicate the lighting conditions of some of your Inspirational Lighting images!
