Class Rules
This class is based on the idea of mutual respect. I promise I will always be respectful of your time, your intelligence, and your dignity by never assigning busy work, allowing frequent student feedback to improve my lesson plans, and speaking politely/treating my students as people rather than as simply just another number on my roster.
In exchange, I expect my classes to abide by the “4 Be’s”:
Be on time and ready to work as soon as the bell rings
Be respectful to me and your fellow students (no foul language, harassment, bullying, or other forms of discrimination)
Be careful and responsible with all classroom equipment, both inside and outside the classroom
Be responsible with your technology use (no surfing the web during class or frequent cell phone use)
Class Website & Website Checks
This course makes use of its own website that has been integrated into schoology. Both parents and students can use this website to see an agenda for each day of class, view assignments and other coursework, access a detailed description of projects, download study guides, etc. The home page of the website will always be updated with what homework is coming up and when it is due, along with hyperlinks that take you to each assignment's description. This website can be accessed from schoology, and all of the assignments will still be uploaded to both schoology and the class website.
In addition to the class website, students will each be making their own websites to showcase their photographs and compile notes/other assignments. In other words, students will turn things in by uploading their work to their website, which will be checked by the teacher every first day of each week (Monday or Tuesday). These days are called “Website Checks.” If a student is wondering what is due by the next website check, it will always be posted on the home page of the class website.
You can access the Photo 2 website here.

Late Work
If you do not submit assignments by the deadline, scores will be recorded as “Missing” and count as a “0” in the gradebook, even if due to an excused absence. This is not intended to be punitive; rather, it is informative. This way, you clearly know what work you have to complete and submit. Being absent does not exempt you from coursework. If you have missed a class, you can go to the class website to see exactly what we did the day(s) you missed, as well as any assignments of projects that were introduced.
I allow a grace period of 1 week to turn in missing assignments (you have till the next week’s website check). If work is turned in after the grace period, the highest grade a student can achieve on that assignment is a C (75%). If 2 weeks have passed since the assignment’s due date, the student can no longer receive credit for this assignment.
Redos and Revisions
Before the end of the quarter, students are allowed to redo and revise any previous assignment for a better grade so long as they have turned it in on time and at least half completed. Late work cannot be revised for a better grade. If a student would like to revise their work, they should upload their new work to their website and let me know they have resubmitted it via email.
Tardies and Absences
If you are arriving late, go to the “tardy station” in the hallway to get a pass before you show up to class.
If you are missing class for any reason: it is your responsibility as a young adult to check the class website to see what you missed and make up all assignments by the due date. If you know ahead of time that you will be absent or have an emergency, please communicate with me and we will figure out how to get you caught up.
Many assignments we do can only be done in class. If you have an unexcused absence that day, you cannot make up the in-class assignment we did.
Leaving Class
If you are leaving the class for any reason, before you do, let me know you are leaving, take the hall pass, and sign out on the QR code on the door. Any absence longer than 20 minutes will result in an “Unexcused Present” in attendance.
Course Fee
This class has a course fee of $50 ($25 per semester)
