This assignment will be done in class. If you are absent, you may still make up the points by following the instructions below on your own instead of with a group.
In your groups (based on the color above your computer) you will be taking several pictures of objects or people in motion using each of the following settings:
A fast shutter speed (1/250 or faster)
A slow shutter speed (1/50 or slower)
Each member of your group must take at least 5 photos! At least 1 photo should have a fast shutter speed and one should have a slow shutter speed.
Be creative with your shots! Think, "how can I best showcase the setting I'm using?" For instance, If you are using a fast shutter speed to freeze motion, think about what a cool motion would be to freeze, or consider if that same motion might look better with motion blur.
When you are done taking photos, you will offload them into the shared google drive, then pick out your top 5 favorite images that YOU took and upload them to your website.
Next to each of your 5 images on your website, write down:
What shutter speed you used
How using that shutter speed affected the image
*Note - If you don't know what settings you used, if your image is still in your files, right click on it, then hit "properties," then "details." There it will display your ISO, shutter speed, and aperture size.
OR if you do not have it in your files, download it from the shared google drive, click the 3 dots at the top when it opens, then click on "file info" and it will display the information.
Must have 5 images uploaded to your website (10 points, 2 points per)
Must have at least one image with (15 points, 7.5 points per)
A fast shutter speed (1/250 or faster)
A slow shutter speed (1/50 or slower)
Next to each image, must have written down which shutter speed (measured in seconds) was used and a sentence about how that shutter speed affected the image (5 points, 1 point per)
Create a new subpage under your units page. Title it "Experimenting with Shutter Speed."
Plug in your DSLR camera to your computer and upload the images you want to post.
In the insert tab, click on "images," then select the images you want to upload.
Click and drag a text box next to each image and type in the settings you used to capture that image.
Now, navigate back to your units page.
Under you assignments section in unit one, create a new bullet point and title it "Experimenting with Shutter Speed."
Highlight the text you just wrote and click the link icon (looks like a chain link), then link it to the Experimenting with Shutter Speed page you just created.
Click into preview mode to check that it worked. You can enter preview mode by clicking the computer icon in the top right corner. Click on the link you just made and make sure it takes you to the Experimenting with Shutter Speed page you just created.
When you are done, hit PUBLISH.
NOTE - if you do not hit publish, when I click on your website to grade this assignment, your new edits will not show up!!
