I hope everyone is having a great and relaxing weekend. I want to thank all the students and parents for a successful first day of testing on Friday. We have an amazing community and our students are the absolute best! Just a reminder that testing and makeup testing will continue throughout the week.

This Week:

Science EOG is on Thursday,  June 1, along with Read to Achieve

Next Week:

Thank you again to our fabulous PTA for the amazing new CGE Mural. The mural at the main entrance is the fifth-grade class gift to the school. Great Job!

Around the School

AIG Permission Forms due June 2nd

Last week you should have received an envelope with the results of your child's AIG Evaluation and recommendations for placement. If a permission form was included with your letter, it is due to Kimberley Hackman, AIG Teacher, Friday, June 2nd.  This is to update Powerschool with your child’s AIG identification so they may receive guaranteed services next year. Please feel free to contact khackman@chatham.k12.nc.us if you have any questions or concerns.

From your School Social Worker:

Library Books

Please help your children find their library books so they can be returned. If you can't find the books, you can pay for them before the end of the year by check made out to Chatham Grove ES.

Thanks so much for your help in keeping our library collection robust!

Bitsy Griffin, Librarian

Dismissal Tags

Please DISCARD all current dismissal tags after the last day of school! We are designing a new tag to be distributed at open house. Families will have different numbers next year, so no old tags will be needed.

Thank you for your help on this!

From the School Nurses:

As this school year comes to an end we want to send you some important health reminders.

Medications will be sent home in your child's backpack on Friday, June 9, 2023. Please check their backpacks upon arrival home. All controlled medication must be picked up in the front office by 12 pm on Monday, June 12, 2023. Any medication left after this date will be disposed of unless other arrangements are made.

Care plans, Medication Administration forms and Unique Mealtime Needs forms must be submitted yearly. If you need a specific healthcare plan that is not linked here, please reach out to your school nurse.

We will begin accepting medications on August 17, 2023. Please make sure that all medications are in a labeled prescription box/bottle or they cannot be accepted. Please drop off the medication administration form with the medication at the front office.

If you have a student who is enrolling in kindergarten, or who is an out of state transfer, a NC Health Assessment form and an immunization record is required to be submitted within the first 30 days of school.

Thank you,

Megan Gladson (mgladson@chatham.k12.nc.us)
