From the Principal's Desk

CGE Families,

Welcome to May! This week our fifth grade students will visit our friends at  Margaret B. Pollard Middle school.  This is always an exciting time of year. As you are well aware we continue to struggle with bus driver availability. We apologize for the inconveniences these shortages have caused you and your family. Please know that we are working hard to address this issue and my goal is to have CGE fully staffed with its own drivers heading into the new school year. Ms. Harris will continue to communicate daily any and all bus changes and delays. I also want to recognize and say thank you to our parent volunteers who are helping with the composting initiative in the cafeteria. We could not do this without you.

Steven D. Hayes

Interim Principal

2023-24 PTA Elections

Elections for 2023-24 CGE PTA officers will take place at the last general membership meeting on Tuesday, May 9.

In accordance with NCPTA Bylaws, the PTA invited any/all parents interested in these roles to contact the Nominating Committee and meet for an interview. That process is now complete, and the Nominating Committee is presenting its 2023-24 slate for general membership consideration/vote on May 9:

Nominations will be accepted from the floor. Proxy voting is not allowed.

There are PTA Board of Directors roles that need to be filled after July 1, and many additional ways to get involved next year. Details will be shared as they become available, and we invite you to contact us directly should you wish to be considered for a board role.

Questions can be directed to our Nominating Committee Chair Adam Lawler  adam.e.lawler@gmail.com and/or VP of Governance Courtney Wright at governance@chathamgrovepta.com.
