From the Principal's Desk
Many of our classroom teachers have been struggling with students using/playing with their smartwatches during instruction. Please know that teachers will ask your kids to place their smartwatch (or other electronic devices) in their backpacks if they become a distraction. Please reach out should you have any questions.
As a reminder, Friday, March 17th, will be my last day at Chatham Grove. Please know that I have been overwhelmed with all the “well wishes” I have received over the last several weeks. It’s been my honor to serve our community, and I can’t wait to hear all the great things that will happen at Chatham Grove in the coming years. I wish you and your kids all the best.

Digital Citizenship
Hello Gator families! The past 2 weeks in counseling specials, we have focused on digital citizenship. Last week, we specifically talked about our digital footprint (definition shared with students below) and computer expectations. Students received the following information regarding appropriate computer use:
On school computers, students MAY:
Work on school assignments.
Use school approved websites / apps on clever when instructed to do so by a teacher.
Send an email to teachers when needed and only to other students when allowed by the teacher for an academic purpose.
On school computers, students may NOT:
Email other students just for fun.
Search inappropriate topics and/or search any photos or information that is not for a school assignment.
Chat with other students online in any way (in a shared google doc, google presentation, email, etc.)
We shared with students that EVEN IF they delete emails or search history, we have a staff member at our school who can see everything and anything they have ever searched or emailed (again-- even if deleted or cleared).
Students were told that they will receive consequences (possibly including loss of computer) if they are not following these expectations.
Please feel free to chat with your child(ren) about these expectations and help us reinforce this information. Our goal is to help keep students safe online and focused on their learning. Thank you so much!
