StartUp.lab provides a different approach to the study of business and entrepreneurship. Rather than learning about the world of business from dusty textbooks, we learn by doing. Students learn about and develop both the mindset of successful entrepreneurs as well as the skills needed for success.
We focus on topic areas such as the entrepreneurial mindset, innovation, disruption, business model thinking, customer relationships and startup culture. While obviously applicable in the world of business and entrepreneurship, the attitudes and skills gained in StartUp.lab will also support students to be successful in school, in their social lives and in their communities.
StartUp.lab provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to take their ideas and get them and started.
All resources, activities and information will be available on this site for students participating in MYP4 and MYP5 StartUp.lab. Both MYP4 and MYP5 students access the same website, but will refer to different sections, based on the unit of study.
Details of tasks and activities required will be included in the school management system with relevant links to this site.
In addition, information about the Acceleration.lab program is also included in a section of this website.
Each unit has it's own dedicated section of the website. Follow the menu links (you may need to click the expandable 'hamburger' menu) to access the different sections. The sections are structured with an overview page that provides basic details about the unit, and sub-pages that can be followed step by step. The sub-pages provide the material for individual lesson or lesson sequences, and include details of tasks and activities for students to complete.
At the beginning of each topic area, you will meet "Helpful Pineapple". The Helpful Pineapple is there to give an overview of the unit.
