The girls' ice hockey coach is getting ready for the upcoming season. There is a lot of excitement about this team, now that fall sports have come to an end. Mr Sheehan, the coach, shared that he is excited about this team.
"I am looking forward to having a veteran team return and having that type of experience should lead to a great team," he said.
Since the team requests an eighth grade waiver each year, some players have been together for five years of girls ice hockey at BHS. This year the team will finally be playing with and against girls of the same age.
"We have lots of experience with lots of people playing since the 7th grade,” said Mr. Sheehan. “Since we always request an eighth grade waiver, I am really looking forward to seeing them play against kids their own age."
Many girls are excited to start the season. Karleigh Weber is looking forward to playing as a freshman and played last year as an eighth grader.
"Returning as a freshman, I've set my hopes, goals and expectations higher," she said.
There is a lot of energy and anticipation heading into this season. These players are ambitious and ready to work hard. They are ready to be a true competitor with both the Liberty Division and Freedom Division.
"My approach is to work really hard,” Mr. Sheehan said.“I really like my teams to be aggressive and to communicate on the ice " shared Coach Sheehan. Let's hope this group of veteran players can succeed because of their past experiences.
"We skate hard, we play hard" states Coach Sheehan.
