Summer may be over, but there’s plenty to be thankful for…the kids are back in school, Premier League Football has returned and Bolt’s presence across the country continues to grow at pace.
This month’s Bolt Driver Connect gives you the latest news, developments and insights to help you earn more, stay safe, and get the most out of your Bolt Driver App.
📚 Bolt Goes Back To School
We were delighted to welcome lots of you to our hubs in London, Manchester, and Birmingham to help you and your family get a head start on back to school preparations!
At the hubs we distributed hundreds of school kits: including new school bags and all the accessories needed to help kids thrive from the start of the new school year. Over 100 drivers and their families joined us across the three cities, providing the opportunity to connect personally and professionally on a range of topics.
Thank you to everyone who was able to drop in and join us. Keep an eye out for future initiatives.
⭐ Are you a shining star?
Over 800 drivers have shared their feedback on making both driver and rider journeys a more positive experience.
We will continue to communicate with riders on our expectations, ensuring that together we can create better ride experiences for both drivers and customers, based on mutual respect, that will help deliver more consistent 5-star journeys.
You can read our rider blog and check out our social media video .
🏢 Local council requirement news
Two key updates this month on driver compliance requirements from local councils.
Portsmouth Council, new style livery: Portsmouth Council Licensing Service has issued new style livery to both private hire and hackney carriage vehicles. We strongly recommend you ensure the new style livery is on your doors when you are driving. The old style (Oval) livery should no longer be displayed on the vehicle doors. The council has stated that vehicles will be suspended if found to be working without livery. The only exception to this rule is if you have recently licensed a vehicle and still have an order outstanding for magnetic or adhesive stickers. Once these orders are received, the council will be in contact to advise you that they are ready for collection.
Sheffield City Council, Safeguard Training: Mandatory safeguarding training is required for all new and existing licensees. If you have already completed an approved course, or have previously completed the Level 2 Course Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver, including the approved safeguarding module, please email in a copy of your safeguarding certificate to taxilicensing@sheffield.gov.uk. If you have not yet completed an approved safeguarding training course, we strongly recommend you arrange to do so as soon as possible. Please note Sheffield Council states that if they do not receive evidence from drivers that they have completed an approved safeguarding training course by 30th September 2025, licences will be suspended without further notice.
